Man Slumps After ‘Assault’ By Three Women

Three women appeared before an Upper Shariah Court in Gusau, Zamfara State  yesterday for allegedly holding and dragging the manhood of one Abdulrahman Suleman, a situation which was said to have caused him to slump.

Reading the First Information Report (FIR), the prosecutor, Hamisu Ibrahim, said the three women namely Hannatu Ibrahim, Wasila Hassan and Rukkayatu Hassan all of GRA Gusau, tore Abdulrahman’s cloths, and held his manhood firmly until he slumped.

It was gathered that the incident occurred during the just concluded Ramadan lecture at the Women Centre,Gusau.

He said the incident occurred on August 13, 2012, and that the complainant was revived by people around who poured water on him.

“It was not a case of rape as earlier reported by the press. The complainant alleged that the three women during the Tafsir were playing music with their phones and when they were cautioned,  they tore the complainant’s  cloths and one of them held unto his manhood until he slumped,” the prosecutor said.

He said the accused persons were taken to court on a three count charge of criminal conspiracy, force and assault, offences which contravene Section 97 and 265 of the Shariah Penal Code law of the state.

Testifying before the court, a colleague of the complainant in the First Aid group, Muawiyya Salisu, 22, said the complainant slumped after the women pounced him following an argument that ensued after he (the complainant) asked the women to stop playing music during a Ramadan lecture.

Counsel to the accused persons, Muttaqa Ahmed Yakubu, told the court that the media misrepresented the last sitting of the court and urged the judge to caution newsmen in the state against such.

After listening to the prosecution, the judge,  Sanusi Muhammad Magami, adjourned the case to September 10th.

“Over 20 witnesses are to appear before the court on this case. I therefore urge them all to have fear of Allah and say nothing but the truth. You should all remember that you will be made to account for whatever you say now hereafter,” he said.

Daily Trust reports that hundreds of residents of Gusau thronged the court to witness the case which was widely reported as a case of three women raping a man.
