Abia Partners UNICEF On Child Mortality

The Abia State government yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding with the United International Children Education Fund (UINCEF).

Governor Theodore Orji, who signed on behalf of the state government said the partnership would enhance healthcare delivery in the state.

Orji said the child rights law would be implemented comprehensively in the state as a sign of government’s commitment to improving the lot of children.

In an interview with Daily Trust, the field officer, UNICEF Enugu, Mr. Charles Nzuka, said the agreement is an expression of the agency’s interest in promoting the general wellbeing of children in the country.
