Australian Federal Police have busted open an international drug syndicate in Sydney, acting on a tip from the DEA.
Police discovered 675 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, or ice, and 555 pounds of heroin in terracotta pots that had reached Australia in shipping containers.
The haul is the biggest ice bust in the country’s history and its third-biggest heroin bust ever, worth $525 million combined.
Four men from Hong Kong and three from Sydney were arrested in the police operation, with authorities saying they have nabbed the alleged ringleader.
The 100 terracotta pots containing the loaf-shaped packages of drugs were part of a cargo of 3,200.
