AC Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo says Kaka would be welcomed back to the club should he complete a transfer from Real Madrid.
Kaka, 30, is set to leave Real this summer – with Milan leading the chase for his signature – and Montolivo believes he can be an important player for the Rossoneri.
“Anybody would want to have Kaka in their team – he’s an exceptional player, and I think he would be welcomed back,” Montolivo told Milan’s official TV channel.
Montolivo is himself a new addition at the San Siro, having signed from Fiorentina earlier this summer. The Italy international believes Milan must get off to a positive start if they are to enjoy a successful campaign.
He added: “The new season kicks off with Sampdoria at home. Samp will definitely come into the game full of enthusiasm after winning promotion to Serie A, but we don’t want to set off on the wrong foot. Our aim is to string together a positive run from the beginning.
“I think that champions Juventus start off favourites, but Milan are up there with them as are Inter, who’ll be a title challenger, too.”
