Two, out of four policemen who were alleged to have killed innocent persons in Apapa at the weekend, have been arrested and handed over to Apapa Police station for prosecution.
The four-man killer police squad attached to the State Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) was said to have been arrested by the officer-in-charge of SARS, Mr. Abba Kyari, who handed them over to Apapa Police Division since that was where the crime was committed.
The police squad made up of two Corporals and two Inspectors had invaded a nightclub in Apapa drunk, and shot sporadically in the area that night.
Some of the fun -seekers in the club had to run for dear lives, unfortunately, bullets hit two of them who died instantly, while another was injured.
When the news got to the officer in charge of SARS, he ordered their arrest immediately and handed them over to the Apapa Divisional Police Officer, Mr. Mohammed Muazu, who had commenced discrete investigation into the crime.
A worker in the nightclub had alleged that the policemen were drunk before they started shooting.
The Apapa DPO told The Guardian that two of the police suspects were in their custody while efforts were being made to arrest the other two who are at large.
