A teen is being credited with saving his grandmother from a burning Beaver County home early Thursday morning.
Firefighters said both suffered serious burns in the blaze.
Investigators said the woman in her 60s started screaming when she realized her Franklin Township home was on fire. Firefighters said her grandson was upstairs sleeping at the time.
A neighbor told Channel 11 News that the woman's grandson moved into the home earlier this year. She said the teen frantically knocked on her door for help after getting out of the burning home.
Police and firefighters said they arrived within minutes but the home on Route 288 was already engulfed and both the 19-year-old and his grandmother were out of the house.
The two were taken to West Penn Hospital. There is no word on their conditions.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
