Ejike To Be Goal King

Sharks' forward, Bright Maduabuchi Ejike has vowed to clinch the season's top scorer gong.

Ejike has netted six goals for his Garden City side this season four goals adrift leader, Enugu Rangers striker, Chikeluba Ofoedu.

The Nigerian junior international who recently escaped unhurt a severe car crash in the Garden City told SuperSport.com that his personal target is to emerge the highest goal scorer at the end of the season.

"Of course, my target is to win the highest goal scorer award, I've score seven goals though credited with six but it doesn't worry me yet because I'm yet to hit the top.

"I'm confident before long I'll net enough goals to hit the top and there won't be looking back till the season end.

"The race is stiff and will be stiffer as time progresses but I'm determined to edge all to grab the award.

"I'm targeting 25 goals in the 2011/2012 season."

Sharks rested for the midweek's matchday 25 at Caf Confederation Cup campaigners, Warri Wolves but Ejike said they used the time to prepare for the matchday 26 foes, Gombe United.

"We didn't rest at midweek but intensified our preparations against Gombe United.

"We've our target to pick points and against Gombe the three points are non-negotiable.

"Gombe will come out tough after it split points against Kaduna United but we'll turn them back empty handed," he said.

The former Wafu king have garnered 33 points from possible 69 although with two matches at hand to Ocean Boys and Warri Wolves.
