It has been confirmed that Orunma Oteh has been recalled as the Director General of the Stock Exchange Commission (SEC).
According to the letter sent to her by The Secretary to the Government of The Federation, she was ‘not indicted for fraud or any criminal breach' and she had therefore been recalled from the compulsory leave she’s been on.
Below is part of the letter she received calling her back to duty.
Re: Compulsory Leave
Please refer to the decision of the board of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to send you on compulsory leave in order to enable SEC’s external auditors – PriceWaterhouseCoopers - examine the records of the Commission’s transactions covering SEC Project 50 which you supervised.
She is to note that Government has studied the report submitted by the external auditors and you are neither indicted for fraud nor any criminal breach in any form.
The purpose of this letter is to recall you from your leave.
