Four Crushed To Death In Gombe 4 years ago 3

An articulated tipper heavily loaded with sands yesterday lost its break system and hit three cars and motorcycles in Gombe metropolis, resulting in the death of four persons with three others critically injured in the hospital.

The sector commander of the federal road safety commission (FRSC), for Gombe, Mr. KT Galadima, who confirmed the incident, said all the four persons died on the spot while the three injured were rushed to Gombe Specialist Hospital and the Federal Medical Centre in Gombe.

The sector commander blamed the incident on a failed break system and accused drivers of articulated vehicles of circumventing the barrier constructed by the government to control their entry into the town in view of the sloppy nature of the town.

An eyewitness said the vehicle with registration number XF 897 GME was running at high speed when the driver lost control around 3pm and rammed into the moving vehicles, he crushed a Toyota Corolla car with registration number AA 82 GJB and all its four occupants including a secondary school female student were killed.
