PPPRA Admits Not Verifying Marketers Document

A prosecution witness in the on-going trial of fuel marketers, Mr Victor Chidok, disclosed to a Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja that the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) did not investigate some documents submitted to it by three oil marketers for processing of their fuel subsidy payment.

Chidok who is the Head, Lagos Zonal Office of Agency made the disclosure while testifying at the trial of Adamu Maula, George Ogbonna, and Emmanuel Morah who are oil marketers that are being prosecuted by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged N789.6 million subsidy frauds.

The trio are standing trial alongside their companies: Downstream Energy Sources Ltd. and Rocky Energy Ltd.

The PPPRA zonal head who was led in evidence by EFCC counsel, Mr Rotimi Jacobs, said Downstream Energy was given permission to import 10,862 metric tonnes of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) into Nigeria.
