Four months after graduating 23 technicians from its Technical Training Centre, the Nigerian Bottling Company Ltd, has graduated a second set of 17 technicians from the centre.
These technicians, now employed by the NBC, have fully satisfied the conditions for the award of the Technical Training. Also, 15 employees from the company’s engineering department graduated as Automation Specialists having completed a 10-week intensive training.
The centre was established on March 1, 1996 , in response to the dearth of competent technicians in the industry. Through its training, the centre produces proficient and multi-skilled technicians who are able to meet and sustain production targets efficiently and effectively.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony here in Ikeja, the NBC Managing Director, Mr. Segun Ogunsanya, said the centre was indicative of the company’s commitment to investing in the development of young Nigerians while in the pursuit of solutions for its business operations.
“More than 50 of our graduates are holders of Higher National Diploma and BSc, and 400 of them have passed various levels of the City & Guilds thereby adding significant value to the economy.”
