Ippo, a rare product of a female donkey and a male zebra, or "zonkey," born in Florence, Italy, on Tuesday, July 23. Sometimes called zedonks or zebroids, the zonkey could live well into its 20s but will be unable to reproduce.

Kekaimalu, the only known living hybrid of a false killer whale, shows off her baby, a female "wholphin," at Sea Life Park Hawaii in Honolulu on April 21, 2005. The baby is one-fourth false killer whale and three-fourths Atlantic bottlenose dolphin.
