Police Foil Robbery Attempt, Nab 2 suspects

Police in Delta State, yesterday, foiled an attempt by three armed robbers to hold up passengers in Aragba on Abraka Road, Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state.

From information gathered , the bandits started their operation in the morning in Isiokolo.

The police got a tip-off and laid siege for them.

Two of the armed robbers were arrested with injuries while the third man fled and the police are still searching for him.

Mr Ikechukwu Aduba, who confirmed the incident said, "the armed robbers, operating in a Toyota Highlander, registration number, AS 234 ASB, attempted to attack a yet to be identified commercial vehicle, but there was alert from control/locals.

He said police and anti-cult and vigilance groups in the area gave the bandits a hot pursuit before they could rob the passengers and recovered the vehicle.

He added that one AK 47 and one locally made double barrel gun were recovered from them.

More so, a police vehicle was hit during the crossfire.
