A native doctor in Ilesa, Osun State has been arrested by men of the Osun State Police Command over the gruesome murder of a psychiatric patient at a local traditional clinic where the patent was receiving treatment.
The patient was simply identified as Femi, while the name of the native doctor who owns the herbal clinic could not be ascertained at the time of filling this report.
He is presently in police custody following his arrest.
It was gathered that Femi, who was one of the patients at the local psychiatric clinic, was found dead with his body mutilated inside a sack in the possession of the local psychiatric clinic doctor.
This caused apprehension and led to a riot in the town as hundreds of youths majority of who were commercial motorcyclists, popularly called okada riders, took to the streets to protest the gruesome killing of the deceased.
The corpse of the deceased has been deposited at Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa for a postmortem. When contacted, the command Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Folasade Odoro confirmed the incident saying that the suspect had given useful information to the police.
