The Vice-President of Liberia, Mr Joseph Boakai, called on Nigerians to take advantage of Liberia's economic opportunities and start investing in the country, especially in its oil and mining sectors. He said it in Umuahia while paying a courtesy call on the Governor of Abia, Chief Theodore Orji.
Mr Boakai ensured interested people that Liberia offers an enabling environment for foreign investments and is ready to receive investors from Nigeria.
Mr. Boakai used the opportunity to thank Nigerians for their immense assistance to Liberia during and after its political crisis. He said that Liberia would remain grateful to Nigeria and would continue to partner with it for mutual economic benefits.
Mr Orji described the vice-president’s visit as ‘’historic’’ and said that the visit would further help to consolidate the bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Liberia.
It is reported that Mr Boakai was in Abia to inaugurate a college complex named after him at the Gregory University, Uturu. He was accompanied on the visit by senior Liberian Government officials, including the country’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Al-Hassan Conteh.
