The Anambra State Government on Tuesday took over the reconstruction of the Anambra section of Onitsha-Enugu Expressway. It will run from Onitsha Bridgehead to Anambra’s boundary with Enugu State at Amansea.
This was announced by the Minister of Works, Mike Onolememen, after a visit to Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, at Government House, Awka.
The minister also promised that the Federal Government would refund the amount spent on the project to the state government.
The cost was not, however, disclosed to newsmen.
The minister said the Onitsha Bridgehead – Zik’s Roundabout portion was awarded to Nigercat Construction Company while Zik’s Roundabout – Amansea would be handled by Consolidated Construction Company.
