About 400 pupils of Local Education Authority (LEA) Primary school, Mpape have undergone training on computer studies under a Community Development Service programme embarked upon by Aniobi Ndubisi, a batch ‘C’ corps member serving in the school.
Aniobi Ndubisi, who stated this during the presentation of awards to winners of an essay competition he organised for pupils, said the decay in value system and changes in the psyche of children motivated him to organise the computer training lesson and essay competition. He said it is also training 100 widows on different acquisition skills, including production of liquid soap, Vaseline, perfume, insecticides, among others.
The corps member said he carried out the programmes from money given to him as allowance and called on spirited Nigerians to assist him in the projects.
Responding, headmaster of the school, Mr. Christopher Bature, said pupils’ knowledge in computer in the school has improved greatly after the training. He challenged other corps members to emulate Ndubisi by rendering selfless services to humanity, especially younger ones in the society.
