A man has been arrested accused of racially abusing two former Rangers players.
The 22-year-old has been detained by Strathclyde Police after sending alleged abusive messages to El Hadji Diouf and Sone Aluko on social networking site Twitter.
He was arrested by officers from the Football Co-ordination Unit for Scotland in the early hours of Saturday.
Officers arrested him at his home in the Ibrox area of Glasgow at around 6.30am.
He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court from custody later on Monday.
A police spokeswoman said, “A 22-year-old man was arrested in relation to alleged drugs offences and racist comments made on a social networking website.”
Diouf, who now plays for Leeds United, was on loan at the Ibrox club from Blackburn Rovers during 2011, while Sone Aluko played for the club from 2011 to 2012.
