Newcastle were first linked with Brown Ideye two years ago, and he seemed a decent player then, when he was at French club Sochaux, but he moved in 2011 to Dynamo Kyiv in the Ukrainian Premier League.
The 24 year-old Dynamo Kiev striker is expected to leave Dynamo Kiev in the coming months, and last season Ideye played 40 times for his club and scored 21 goals and since joining Kyiv he has a decent record and in 78 games he’s scored 35 goals.
He played a 55 times for Sochaux with 29 goals so this right footed player certainly seems to have an eye for goal.
He’s played 15 times for Nigeria and was in the squad that won the African Cup of Nations earlier this year, and is in the squad for the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup.
His agent is Hootan Ahmadi, and he says Ideye would be interested in a move to England – and that was also true two years ago – when Newcastle and Chief Scout Graham Carr were first linked with the striker.
Brown Ideye played in his native Nigeria until 2008 when he moved to Swiss side Neuchâtel Xamax, where he scored 23 goals in 55 appearances before moving to Sochaux in 2010.
As we said earlier, Newcastle have been interested in the player for the last two seasons, so he may be a Newcastle target this summer.
