Hajia Amina Sugha Abdullahi said she ejected her former husband Barrister Abdulhadi Abdullahi from their house, block 24, flat 1 located at the OAU Quarters Wuse 2 Abuja because she was the rightful owner of the house and Abdullahi was unwilling leave.
Abdullahi had claimed ownership of the house and accused his ex-wife of breaking into the house and removing his property while he was away. Amina told Daily Trust by telephone that the property in question belonged to her and that Abdullahi had stayed in the house throughout their marital period. She said she allowed him to stay in the house even after the termination of the marriage in December 2011.
“But last week Tuesday he locked the house while I was absent. I have five children with him, now put under my care by a court. I broke the door that was locked on Friday and moved out his property,” she said.
Documents made available to Daily Trust indicated that Amina made payment for the property and got certificate of occupancy from the Federal Capital Territory Administration.
Amina has filed a letter of complaint before the Zone 7 police headquarters in Abuja before she ejected her former husband from the house. The police have confirmed that they received her complaints and have invited Abdullahi for questioning.
