Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has called on wealthy individuals in the state to embark on projects that will give back to their communities of origin.
The Governor said this while commissioning a block of eight classrooms in Evbobanosa Orhiowon Local Government Area rebuilt General Superintendent, New Covenant Church, Rev. Felix Omobude.
Reverend Felix Omobude said he embarked on the project to improve the lot of the children of the poor in the society.
Commissioning a block of eight primary classrooms renovated by the same management in the community, the governor urged other well-meaning Nigerians and churches to emulate and replicate the gesture.
He stressed that the clergy had by his action identified with his community of origin and further helped in reducing the burden on government.
The Governor however promised to complement his gesture by renovating all the classrooms, build the community roads and provide portable drinking water for the community.
The Governor who had earlier paid a courtesy call on the Enogie of Evbobanosa, Prof. Gregory Akenzua and promised that his administration would continue to justify the support by the community to his government.
Prof. Gregory Akenzua appealed for the construction of the motorcycle race track promised them last year.
The Governor promised to ensure the construction of the four kilo metre motor race track in the community, adding that the project would not only develop the community, but would also attract foreigners to the area.
Evbobanosa, a community on the outskirts of Benin City will boast to be the one of the first beneficiaries of new projects at this scale since the commencement of the second tenure of the Oshiomhole government as the government.
