When contacted, the Secretary of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Adamawa State Chapter, Mallam Usman Liman, said that they were yet to compile the number of deaths recorded during the incident even as he said that the conflict emanated as a result of dispute between Chamba residents who are mostly farmers and Fulani residents who are pastoralists following alleged destruction caused on farmlands by cattle, just as he declined further comments.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Ibrahim, confirmed the incident.

"It was unfortunate that the DPO Ganye District reported to us that there was an incident in his domain which resulted in a dispute between farmers and herdsmen which claimed the life of a farmer and a subsequent reprisal attack which resulted to the death of three Fulani residents," he said.

The Police image maker also confirmed that many people were arrested in connection with the incident even as he said that investigation was still ongoing: "As soon as it is completed, the culprits will be taken to the court."
