The kidnapped parents of Mr. Richard Ebegu, Chairman of Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, have been released.
Meantime, the kidnappers of the 59-year-old mother of the Leader of state House of Assembly, Mrs. Esther Akpe, weekend, contacted the family of their victim, demanding N80 million ransom to effect her release.

It was gathered that the release of the kidnapped parents of the council chairman, Mr. Festus, 65, and his 53-year-old wife, Ebiye, followed the intervention of operatives of the Joint Task Force.
The victims, who were reportedly released on Saturday, after six days in captivity, had been relocated to Yenagoa by their son.
The victims were seized and taken away last Monday from their residence at the riverside settlement of Oloibiri, in Ogbia coumcil by gunmen.
Though it could not be ascertained, if any ransom was paid, a security source told Vanguard that the couple was released by their captors as security operatives were closing in on them.
Contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Fidelis Odunna, confirmed the development.
But a source told Vanguard that the victims were received by the chairman’s younger brother and a councilor in the council.
Meantime, the abductors of the 59-year-old mother of the Leader of the state House of Assembly, according to a source, contacted the family, weekend and assured them of her safety.
“They even allowed us (family) to speak with her. But the ransom demand as at Saturday was put at N80million. Negotiations is being done with the mobile phone of the kidnapped woman.”
The woman was abducted Tuesday at Ebedebiri in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state and taken away in a waiting speedboats.
