Rufa’i said, “We are not out to establish local universities but rather build a universities that will meet  international standards. And the government is ever positioned to provide all necessary means to achieve this objective.”

The minister  commended the  work at the Federal University Lokoja, adding that she was pleased with the structures being put in place.

Rufa’i said it would be better for the university to start  academic activities with appreciable infrastructure.

The minister, during her visit to Governor Idris Wada, appealed to the state government to resettle  those  whose structures are still within the university environment.

According to her, it will  be a security risk to allow private and non academic worship centres in the university.  She stated that this was not allowed anywhere in the world.

Wada said the state government would collaborate with the federal government for the speedy take-off of the university. He also said the take off of the university would create more jobs, adding that the government was already partnering with the university to take off. Home Page
