The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has decried the sack of doctors by the Lagos State government, following a labour dispute, as well as the sacking of teachers in Oyo State. It described the act as being wicked and inhuman.

The chairman of the PDP in Ekiti State, Mr Makanjuola Ogundipe, in a statement signed by his media aide, Mr. Femi Omolusi, and made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, said “the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) government in the South West is a government that has no human face and is unfair to humanity.”

According to Ogundipe, “Governor Fashola should provide good health to the people of Lagos State, rather than putting their lives in danger by sacking about 1,000 doctors.”

The PDP chairman said in the statement, “ACN governors in the South-West are enemies of the people in Yoruba land. How can two governors, who belong to the same party, sack 1,800 workers on the same day? It shows that the ACN governors are not interested in the welfare of their citizens. Is it a crime for workers to agitate for their right?”

“These ACN governors are killing the health, judiciary and education sector in the South-West.”

He urged the ACN governors to create employment that would fight poverty and put food on the tables of the people, as he added that, “the sacking of doctors in Lagos and teachers in Oyo State will only increase the crime rate in the country.” Home Page
