The mayor of an Israeli city in the West Bank, was outraged after a newspaper posted a picture of his wife posing next to a snowman, according to press reports in Israel.
A local newspaper was summoned today to the Beitar Illit court, for publishing an image of the wife of Mayor Rubenstein. Avraham Walfish, an owner of the newspaper, which publishes local news and advertisements every Friday, was summoned to the court hearing in Beitar Illit, headed by Rabbi David Tzvi Ordentlich.
The mayor became enraged when among recent newspaper pictures of city residents enjoying the snow which covered the streets of the city on Wednesday and Thursday, was a picture of his wife next to a snowman. Another picture also showed Mayor Meir Rubinstein with his wife and family standing next to a snowman.
The court also ordered the newspaper owner to be more vigilant so a similar offense should not happen again.
