A middle-aged man, Mr. Kola Adedeji, has died, following injuries he sustained after gunmen kidnapped and threw him out of a moving car along Gbongan-Ikire Road.
Adedeji, an indigene of Osun State, was returning home from a party in Gbongan on Saturday when the gunmen attacked his car.
He was a top official of a federal parastatal in Abuja.
It was gathered that Adedeji, who was being chauffeured on the ill-fated journey, was in company with his elder brother.The car bearing the gunmen forced Adedeji’s car to a stop while one of them took over the wheel.
Adedeji, his elder brother and driver were ordered to close their eyes and bury their heads between their laps.
However, another source said Adedeji jumped out of the car in fear.
It was unclear as at the time if filing this report whether the gunmen took Adedeji’s car away or not.
Police Public Relations Officer, Osun Command, Mrs. Sade Odoro, said she was away to Abuja on an official assignment.
