Residents of Owo and Ondo towns in Ondo State have expressed satisfaction over the progress of work so far achieved by the new contractors handling their town roads dualisation projects.
They have therefore commended the state government for its transformation drive in roads infrastructure across the state.
A cross section of the residents stated this when the Commissioner for Works, Mr. Adegboye Adegbenro, who visited the two towns on Friday, informed them that the phase one of both projects would be inaugurated before the end of February.
Those who spoke in Owo expressed satisfaction over the quality of job done so far and the speedy manner with which the road dualisation project in the town was being handled.
A community leader who is also the Chairman, Ondo State League of Imams and Alfas, Alhaji Ahmed Aladesawe, said the people of the state did not make mistake when they re-elected.
Aladesawe noted that the governor had raised the status and prestige of various towns in the state beyond the people’s expectation.
He said, “This man has successfully put Ondo State on the map of progressive and well-developed states in the comity of states in the country.
“Nobody had expected that Owo Road would be as developed and beautified as this in the next 10 years,” he added.
The cleric said the people of the state would ever be grateful and continue to pray for the governor for turning around the state for better.
Also speaking, a resident, Mrs. Ireti Olaleye, said the dualisation of strategic roads in the state had enhanced their beauty and boost commercial activities.
The Commissioner while speaking in Owo said the 7.8kilometre Phase One of the dualisation project ranked among the best intra-city roads in the country.
While also on tour of Ondo township road dualistion project, the commissioner expressed satisfaction with the speed of work done by the contractors.
He noted that, “With the manner and speed the contractor is handling the project, the road would be completed by February ending.”
