Voice On Tape Sounds Like Mine, But It's Not Me – Anthony Karbo

The former National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Anthony Karbo has described as a complete fabrication and concoction, a secret tape recording indicting him for scheming to cause mayhem in the December polls.

The tape recording released by an NDC group led by Felix Kwakye Ofosu on Monday revealed a voice that sounded like Anthony Karbo planning to bring in mercenaries tagged as “badboys” from Libya, Benin, Togo and Liberia to disrupt the December polls.

The voice also targeted some officials of the Electoral Commission and the top hierarchy of the Ghana Armed Forces. But a statement released and signed by Mr Karbo said “I have not had any meeting with a person or group of persons where the agenda of that meeting is to destabilize this country.

I challenge the group to confirm where this meeting was held, who were the people in the meeting and what the agenda was.” He suggested that the fake secret tape is an attempt by the propaganda machinery of the NDC to cow him into submission following his “exposé on President John Mahama and his brother, Ibrahim Mahama’s failure to repay the over GH¢50 million debt owed to Merchant Bank.”
