Appeal Court Upholds Ondo Governor's Election

The Court of Appeal sitting in Akure has upheld the ruling of the Ondo Election Petitions Tribunal, that Governor Mimiko was the winner of the last Governorship election.

The petition was filed by the candidate of the Accord Party in the Ondo state governorship election in October 20 2012,, Mr Olawale Ojo. The Court of Appeal sitting in Akure has upheld the ruling of the Ondo Election Petitions Tribunal which dismissed the petition of the candidate of the Accord Party in the Ondo October 20 2012, governorship election, Olawale Ojo.

In a ruling read by Justice Uche Onyenanam at the resumed sitting of the court, today, said the Lower Court was right by dismissing the petition because the national body of the party told the tribunal it had no case before it.

The Appeal Court also resolved the issues formulated in the appeal in favour of the respondents.
