Chairman of Abaji Area Council, Alhaji Yahaya Musa Muhammad, has said that the water project embarked upon by the Federal Capital Territory Millenium Development Goals (FCT MDGs) in Abaji is 75% complete and will reduce water scarcity within Abaji town as well as be reticulated to nearby villages like Kekeshi, Nuku, Naharati, Mandaregi and Agyana.
The chairman, who said the project will greatly reduce the suffering of people of the area, informed that the project is a deliberate intervention by the FCT Administration in collaboration with the council authorities to address water problem.
Alhaji Muhammed stated this when he toured round the project site Thursday and vowed to continue to support FCT projects initiated by the FCT minister to alleviate people’s sufferings, adding that residents of the area should exercise patience as such projects needed to be handled by professionals.
According to him, as soon as the water project is commissioned, usage of boreholes will reduce. He appealed to the FCT MDGs office to site more meaningful projects in Abaji as his administration is ready to partner with them.
