The committee of the whole house was set to consider a report earlier submitted by the Ndidi Elumelu-led Committee on Health.

The Committee on Health had added its input into the Bill for an Act to repeal the National Health Insurance Scheme Act, No.35 of 1999, before its submission to the committee of the whole house.

But midway into the clause by clause consideration of the recommendations of the Health Committee, electricity supply to the chamber went off.

The continued fluctuation in power also caused the public address system including microphones and the camera in the chamber to malfunction for about one hour which forced the House to adjourn.
