Cash-flow Abi Network Ltd., Cash-flow Abi Cooperative Society and their Managing Director, Philemon Ibrahim Gora have separately dragged the Diamond Bank and Access Bank before an Abuja High Court for allegedly causing the death of a business man (name withheld) because the banks failed to honour their several cheques.
The plaintiffs averred that they have lost several business opportunities and incurred several liabilities because the banks denied them access to their accounts with the two banks.
The plaintiffs are demanding N1 billion from the Diamond Bank and N200 million from the Access Bank as general damages for breach of contract.
In the suits filed by Max Ogar on their behalf, the plaintiffs stated that one of their “business associates committed suicide recently in Ebonyi State because of his funds that are tied down with the 1st and 2nd Plaintiffs owing to the action of the Defendants.”
They averred that the only thing the Defendant’s branches in Abuja have told them is that their accounts are on PND (Post No Debit).
“Nobody has given the plaintiffs any reason why their accounts are on PND. The plaintiffs have not been served with any notice or order from an administrative or judicial body. This situation has pitched the plaintiff’s business associates/creditors against the Plaintiffs individually and collectively,” they said.
