Governor Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of Sokoto State yesterday tasked the new governor of Kaduna State, Dr Mukhtar Ramallan Yero to employ patience and fairness to all in the running of the state affairs.
He further urged him to also fear God in the discharge of his responsibilities and particularly while dealing with issues that may be brought before him, saying, there are more challenges that will come his way, but with fear of God and good intension, he will sail through.
Governor Wamakko gave the advice when he paid a condolence visit to the governor and late Yakowa’s widow yesterday at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, Kaduna.
He said he was away in India and Dubai when the unfortunate incident that led to the death of the former Governor Sir Patrick IbrahimYakowa occurred, and had proposed that would personally come around to condole with the government, family and the good people of the state.
“My word of advise to you is that you need to be patient and fair to all , you need outright patience in dealing with issues as they come your way. “Challenges are more enormous, but with good intension and fear of God you will sail through,” he assured.
Wamakko prayed God for guidance and maturity for Governor Yero to lead the state, while describing Kaduna State as the heart of the north.
He also prayed God to grant the late governor eternal rest and the state and Yakowa’s family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Responding, Governor Yero commended the Wamakko and assured that he would be fair to all, just as he reiterated that he will build on the good foundations already laid by his late predecessor.
