Kwankwaso to Convert Abandoned Hotel to School

Kwankwaso to Convert Abandoned Hotel to School

The Kano State government will convert the abandoned multi-billion naira Magwan Water Hotel project into an all girls boarding secondary school in order to promote girl child education.

The multi-storey complex originally designed as a five-star hotel, was initiated during the Muhammadu Abubakar Rimi administration, but was abandoned by successive administrations.

According to a statement from his director of press, Halilu Ibrahim Dantiye, the governor revealed the decision during a visit to the complex. He said the school will be named First Lady’s College and will be in the same ranking with the Governor’s College, another special co-educational secondary school set up by his administration.

Kwankwaso stated that the government has set aside adequate funds for the provision of facilities and other requirements for the project.
