KANO – A family member of the assassinated Deputy Inspector General of Police, Sale Abubakar Ningi , Salihu Goni  has confessed that he mastermind  the gruesome murder of retired senior officer along two others in Kano three weeks ago.

Salihu Goni alias Kaka told a team of crack detectives during interrogation that he shared close relationship with the late former police boss, stressing that his closeness put him at vantage to hatch and successfully execute the plot.

Salihu Goni 34 who was picked up by the police at Hotoro Haye in Kano metropolis confessed that he monitored the late senior officer movement and alerted one Gana Bukar also in police net to lay ambush with one other person now at large.

Sale Abubakar Ningi, a retired DIG was assassinated along with a friend and his driver while returning from his factory at Dakata Sauna Kawaji Industrial layout outskirt of Kano metropolis June 5th  by unknown gunmen on motorcycle.

The Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Idris revealed that further investigation has led to the arrest of several other suspects in connection with the murder of the late senior police officer.

Ibrahim Idris disclosed that one Muhammed Tahir 22 was arrested at Dandishe Kurna Asabe quarters ,adding that three cans of improvised explosives device were recovered from his tailoring shop.

He noted that the suspect also confessed during interrogation to have conspired with several others to launch attack at BUK worship centre April 29th  adding that the he also confessed killing a Custom Chief Superintendent  and Staff of DSS  in Kano penultimate week. Home Page
