Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State, Mr. Makanjuola Ogundipe, has given the Kayode Fayemi administration performance in the last 20 months low score.
But the governor dismissed the claim, insisting that his administration had brought development to the state.
Ogundipe said in Ado Ekiti on Monday, “The Action Congress of Nigeria government in Ekiti has performed woefully in the last 20 months. The governor was unprepared for governance and apart from this he knows nothing about governance.
“Fayemi has squandered the allocation received from the Federal Government and the Internally Generated Revenue up to over N200bn since he assumed office.”
However, Fayemi, who spoke through his Commissioner for Information, Mr. Funminiyi Afuye, described the allegations as “an attempt by a party in oblivion to seek attention”.
Afuye said Fayemi had been working hard to rebuild the state since he came to power.
He said, “It is visible to everybody in the state that this administration has turned Ado Ekiti and the whole state into a huge construction site. Construction work is going on everywhere and this is what can been seen even by a first timer to the state.
“I am not surprised that these baseless allegations are coming from Ogundipe who is an advocate of chop I chop politics. This administration is out to serve the people and not to share the commonwealth of the people of the state.”
