Late DIG’s Siblings Fight Over Property

Late DIG’s Siblings Fight Over Property

The siblings of the late Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ganiyu Olanrewaju Dawodu, are fighting over property left by the deceased.

Sources said the late DIG’s siblings were at the Sabo Police Station, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, on Monday after police were informed that there was pandemonium in the family.

“The late DIG’s father called police that some hoodlums were disturbing him. But on getting there, we realised that it was the late DIG’s younger sister,” said Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide.

“It was purely a family matter and it was resolved by the DPO at the station,” said Braide.

She said nothing was incidented and no one was detained. Braide did not disclose the identities of those involved.

However, sources close to the family told P.M.NEWS that since Dawodu died in December last year, there has been in-fighting among his siblings over some of the property he left.

The late DIG was said to own a hotel in Ikorodu area of Lagos and other property across the state.

The property are now tearing the family apart.

“They have been fighting themselves since the man died last year over his property. The siblings are not even interested in the late DIG’s children. They want everything for themselves and police are now frequent guest,” a source said.

The late DIG left behind five children and a widow. His eldest child is 18-years old while the youngest is 2.
