Nigeria’s path to peace, stability, by Kumuyi, Adeboye 4 years ago 4

THE General Superintendent, Deeper Christian Life Bible Ministry, Pastor William Folorunsho Kumuyi and the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, have identified how the country can attain peace and stability for its development.

Kumuyi spoke yesterday during the Deeper Christian Life Celebration Miracle Sunday Service, which took place at the International Bible Training Centre, Ayobo.

On his part, Adeboye canvassed more assistance of private and corporate bodies for the Federal Government towards the accelerated socio-economic growth of the nation.

Adeboye said at the weekend in Ilorin that the provision of   infrastructural facilities for Nigerians should not be the exclusive duty of the government

Kumuyi said at the church service: “As a church, we have many proofs of God’s favour and these give us assurance that there is hope for this nation.

“In the world today, people celebrate many things. We in the church are celebrating in our own way the goodness of the Lord despite the hard times individuals and the nation as a whole are passing through and we believe that if we all as a nation would trust God, the entire country too would celebrate.

“Some people may ask why do we celebrate miracles in the face of security challenges in the country, unemployment, poverty, diseases and infirmities?

“While our heart goes out to the families of the victims of the recent unfortunate occurrences, notwithstanding, it is a settled fact the God is still good.”

The cleric also urged the leadership of the country to be more proactive because, according to him, good governance can go a long way in addressing many of the problems the country is currently experiencing.

He urged leaders in their various positions to be honest, transparent and pursue those things that would reduce the impoverishment of Nigerians.

Kumuyi stressed the need for Nigerians and leaders to be righteous, since according to him, it is only righteousness that can exalt a nation.

The Region Four Pastor of the RCCG, Pastor Sunday Akande, disclosed Adeboye’s position in a sermon he delivered at the 22 Armoured Brigade during the commissioning of a bus terminus shed constructed by the church.

According to Adeboye, “we are not just set up by God to feed the people with only spiritual food. We owe the people around us some other needs that the church can conveniently afford. We urge other Nigerians to see it as a necessity so that the Federal Government can be assisted.”

He urged Nigerians to imbibe the culture of peace and tolerance as exemplified by the Lord Jesus Christ. For the pastor, there is no alternative to peace as he admonished Nigerians to continually live together in peace and harmony.

He promised more assistance of the church to the less privileged, just as he noted that Nigeria as a nation would be greater than its present status if the citizens should turn away from their sinful ways.

Lauding the kind gesture of the church and the vision of its leadership, Col. Halisu Adama, who represented the commander, promised judicious use of the bus terminus shed by members of the barracks. Home Page
