An Agege Grade ‘A’ Customary Court in Lagos on Tuesday dissolved a 10-year-old marriage of a carpenter, Mr Sanjo Ekeola over alleged infidelity and threat to life by his wife.
The Court President, Mr Emmanuel Sokunle, held that Ekeola insisted on divorce in spite of the efforts of the court to save his marriage to Taiwo.
“The custody of the first three children remains with their father,’’ he ordered.
Sokunle gave the custody of the last child to the woman.
“The petitioner will be paying her N5, 000 monthly through the court for the last child’s upkeep.
“The first three children will be spending half of their holiday with their mother,’’ Sokunle ruled.
Sanjo, 48, filed the divorce suit on Sept. 11.
He earlier denied fathering the last child but later accepted the paternity.
Sokunle, residing at No. 5, Olorunsogo St., Aboru in Iyana-Ipaja, had accused Taiwo, 38, of disrespect and arrogance.
He prayed the court to grant him the custody of the first three children.
Taiwo, however, denied the allegations and urged the court to save the union because she still loved Sanjo.
