A suspected gay who allegedly sneaked on a mentally challenged homeless man, sodomised him before threatening him with death has been locked in remand prison.
Prosecutor Tungamirai Chakurira told the court Kazhanje sneaked on the vagrant, who was sleeping in Harare's Dzivaresekwa suburb last month, removed his clothes and began sodomising him.
According to the prosecution, Kazhanje did not stop even after the destitute woke up. Instead, he threatened the mentally challenged man with death if the matter was reported to police, the prosecution stated.
The vagrant, however, reported the matter to police leading to Kazhanje's arrest. Magistrate Tshuma remanded Kazhanje in custody to December 19 for trial.
