The Department of the Petroleum Resources has sealed 20 petrol stations across Kogi State, for engaging in sharp practices and operating without license.

Operations Controller of the DPR Field Office in Lokoja, Olukayode Bada, who stated this yesterday while briefing journalists, said the petrol stations were sealed during a recent compliance exercise carried out in Idah and Anyigba respectively. “In the course of our routine surveillance and inspection of petrol stations within Lokoja and other parts of the state, the department discovered 20 filling stations operating without license and were sealed accordingly.

They were also found to be indulging in other sharp practices”, he said. According to him, the exercise is in line with the department’s mandate to maintain standards, sensitize all operators on the importance of safety and to eliminate sharp practices within the industry. He said the development would send warning signals to all those engaging or contemplating to indulge in any form of sharp practices to desist.
