Plateau: Police Ask Bars To Close By 7 pm

Following the attack of a bar in Heipang, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State on Monday night which claimed 10 lives, the Plateau State Police Command has appealed to operators of bars in both Barkin-Ladi and neighbouring Riyom Local Government Area to close by 6 pm while those in Bukuru and Jos metropolis and other local government areas in the state are to close by 7 pm.

The state police command said in a statement to newsmen in Jos yesterday by its Public Relations Officer DSP Emmanuel Abuh that the appeal had become imperative in view of an emerging trend of attacks on drinking places in the state.

The statement also urged members of the public to cooperate with the police and other security agencies to rid the state of ‘criminal elements bent on disrupting the existing fragile peace in the state.’
