Serial Fraudster Arraigned in Lagos

A 45-year-old woman identified as Bunmi Akintoye is presently being held at the Lagos Special Fraud Unit for allegedly defrauding businessmen of about N10 million.

The suspect, a mother of four children, was described by the SFU as a serial fraudster alleged to have defrauded a total of five persons at different times.  The unit said the suspect had in June last year obtained 96 pieces of Hewlett Packard laptops from one of her victims at the cost of N105,000 each amounting to about N1.8 million.

“The suspect criminally confused her unsuspecting victim into believing her as a genuine business woman by depositing the sum of N1.5 million and issued a post dated Sky Bank cheque of N500,000”, it said.
