Lam Adesina, An Irrepressible Democrat – Mimiko

Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State has described former Oyo State governor, (late) Alhaji Lam Adesina, as an irrepressible democrat.

Mimiko said the late leader of Action Congress of Nigeria in Oyo State was an upright and consistent man who always spoke out his mind on issues without minding the implication.

Mimiko spoke during his condolence visit to the Felele, Ibadan, home of the late politician on Saturday.

The governor, who apologised for his inability to visit the deceased’s family earlier, also described the late Adesina as a man with an open heart and one who never discriminated against anybody on any account.

He recalled that the deceased always criticised injustice during the Afenifere/Alliance for Democracy meeting in the Ijebu Igbo residence of the late leader of Afenifere, Chief Abraham Adesanya.

He said, “We join the family of Nigerians to mourn the passing away of Chief Lam Adesina, a fine grass-roots politician.

“He worked and died for his people. He exhibited courage in the course of his career.”

Meanwhile, the Provincial Pastor in charge of the Ondo Province 1 of the Redeemed Christain Church of God, Rev. Richard Adeboye, on Sunday described Mimiko’s victory in the October 20 governorship election in Ondo State as an investment of God which is bound to be sustained.

Adeboye, according to a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kayode Akinmade, stated this in his message at the State Thanksgiving service for the re-election of Mimiko held at the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Arcade, Akure.

In his message titled, ‘Sustaining the Victory’, Adeboye  noted  that God would not give out victory  anyhow, but that  he put into consideration the personality of the recipient.
