South East leaders in Enugu yesterday reiterated their demand for a five-year single term for president and rotational presidency in the country.
They also canvassed immediate recognition of the six geo-political zones in the constitution as basis for distribution of public offices.
The Igbos also canvassed that the position of the President should be rotated among the six-geo-political zones in the keeping with the principles of equity, fairness and justice.

“Our people support a single term of five years for the presidency and this seat should be rotated among the six geopolitical zones,” he said.
He however said that more powers should be given to the local governments. He told the forum yesterday in Enugu that the people of Imo State want financial autonomy for the 774 local government areas and creation additional ones.
According to him, the group also supports the creation of Anim State from the present Imo and Anambra states. Meanwhile the deputy governor of Ebonyi State was booed at the venue of the event as he canvassed the scrapping of local government.
