Okunowo who played for Shooting Stars before moving abroad to join Barcelona told Goal.com that Keshi has been able to give a sense of belonging to the players plying their trade in the local league in Nigeria.

"Not many coaches will take the risk of making sure that players based in Nigeria are given a look in. In time past, they are merely used as training materials.

"But when Keshi came, he made it a duty to start a novel idea to camp the boys at home and use them for matches. This has given the players the motivation to do well.

"It has also given the courage to remain at home until they get a good contract outside the shores of the country. Before this time, you will always see our players travelling at every opportunity.

"But since home based players even make thhe Super Eagles team, the rush to move out and play abroad will reduce.

"I have spoken to a lot of these players to make sure that they take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to show they can do their best before they get clubs abroad.

"Our football will surely benefit from what Keshi is doing to the home based players," Okunowo said.
