The national team drew 1-1 with their Burkinabe counterparts at the ongoing 29th Africa Cup of Nations in Nelspruit, South Africa.

Okala told the News Agency of Nigeria in Awka on Tuesday that the Super Eagles played well, in spite of conceding a late minute equaliser that denied them victory.

He, however, said there was need for the team to maintain full concentration throughout the duration of their matches, noting that a few seconds of complacence always resulted in a disappointing outcome.

“They played very well, but they should maintain concentration, especially towards the end of their matches; that is where I found serious fault. Our opponents usually score us during the last moments of matches, the boys should improve on that lapse, that caused the match to end 1-1,” Okala said.

The 1980 Nations Cup legend added that every department of the team worked hard in the game, carrying on, in spite of being one-man down. He regretted that the equaliser came in less than two seconds to the end of the game.

Okala charged the Eagles to win their next match against the Chipolopolo of Zambia as they had all it took to beat them.
