Slain Minority Leader Buried In Gombe

Yesterday, minority leader of Gombe State House of Assembly Abdulhamid Waziri Doho, shot dead on Jan. 16, 2013 by unknown gunmen in his house, was buried in Gombe.

Until his death, Waziri was a member of the opposition Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and also a member in the assembly representing Kwami West state constituency.

Waziri is survived by three wives and 23 children.

Maijidda, the second wife of the deceased, in an interview at his residence in Gombe yesterday, said precisely two months prior to his killing the deceased received an envelope containing two bullets, a phone number and a written letter saying "here are two bullets and the third one belongs to you."

She said the deceased tried reaching the person through the phone number given, but it was not going through.

Asked if the case was reported to the police, she said it was not reported and since then the deceased continued with his normal life and left everything to Allah.

Deceased’s son Hassan Abdulhamid urged all family members and the deceased friends to take heart and leave everything to Allah.
