Sales Girl Acquitted Of Theft Charges

A Zuba Grade 1 Area Court has acquited a 21-year old sales girl, Charity Samuel, of an alleged theft charge.

The Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Haruna Danlami, had told the court that Samuel, a sales girl in Zuba-FCT, had allegedly stolen the goods of her employer, Mr Longinus Nwachukwu.

Danlami said Nwachukwu of Suleja had complainant to the police at the Zuba Police station that goods worth N170,000 were stolen from his shop and that his sales girl could not offer any explanation for their disappearance.

The Presiding Officer, Malam Alhassan Kusherki, gave the acquittal on Tuesday after dismissing the testimony given to the court by the witnesses called by the prosecutor.

Kusherki averred that both the complainant and accused have keys to the shop as such both have unhampered access to the shop.

He said that none of the stolen goods have been found with the accused, nor was she caught selling them to any body or anywhere around.
